It’s time for another Rocksoc Newsletter!
Yes friends, wipe those tears of joy from your eyes, it’s that magical time
again where we fill you in on all the latest Rocksoc happenings, can you taste
the awesome? We can. Anywho, on with the news!
------HALLOWE’EN--------
Thursday sees the return of our yearly Halloween bash, in tandem with Punksoc
and Gothsoc. Get your best outfits on and hop on down to the Mine bar in the
union for 9. We’ll be playing you the best rock, punk and ska (courtesy of our
society DJs), along with our annual competitions for costume and, rather more
obscurely, skanking. £2 entry for members or those in costume, £3 otherwise.
-----CLUB TRIP TO CORPORATION IN SHEFFIELD-------
On Saturday 7th of November we shall be running our termly club trip to lands
afar. This term we are off to Corporation in Sheffield. Once there a mere one
pound sterling will grant you access to three rooms of 80s Cock Rock, Hardcore
Metal and EBM/Industrial/Goth (more info here: [

then get down to The Old Bar between 12 and 2 any weekday to purchase your coach
tickets (look for the Rocksoc signs and banner), a mere £3 members/£5
non-members. Lovely.
-----FRIDAY PUBMEETS-------
Just a gentle reminder for you all that should these events not sufficiently
scratch your rock itch then we are still running our weekly pubmeets upstairs in
The Packhorse, opposite the civil engineering building on Woodhouse Lane. Get
yourselves down for a pint and a chat and join us as we venture to various
places of rock based pleasure in your local Leeds.
-----DISCOUNT UPDATE-------
Your ever hard working committee are always eager to please you. To this end we
have secured YET MORE discounts for you to claim with your Rocksoc cards. On top
of the £1 discount for Friday Flock, Rock of Ages, Trash Alley and The Wendy
House you now get a £2 discount to F.U.E.L at Leeds Met and £2 discount for
Garage at The Cockpit. You may show your gratitude in hero-worship and presents.
