Alas! Alack! ‘Ello! This shall be the last newsletter you shall officially receive from this present committee! As of tomorrow, 7pm in Meeting Room 3 in the Arc, you the people shall vote in your new leaders, and we who have worked so hard for you all this past year shall be cast aside into the metaphorical scrap heap of graduate ex-members. Not that we’re bitter or anything.
There’s a couple of bits to mention before then though, so here it is:

- Thank you to everyone who came to the ball, it was an awesome night and we didn’t even get charged extra for cleaning bills (somehow). The best part of the evening was definitely the fact that I got away without blisters despite stupid shoes, and if you’ve got any photos of the night please do post them up on the Facebook group so we can all see them!
- AGM! Yes, we are mentioning it again, it’s really important that as many people as possible turn up! Plus you can get nominated for positions right up until we actually vote so if you do want to run for anything, you can mention it there and then and see if you’re in luck… Plus afterwards we all go to the pub and celebrate the year. That’s a good enough reason in itself to come along. Not that we’re advocating drinking at all. Ever.
- Just a quick note that it’s the Official Annual Crossdressoff this Saturday at Wendy! As if we needed an excuse, get your stockings out guys…
- RS&2SB is turning four years old this April. So we’re having a party. A Pirate Party. There may even be cake! PIRATE cake! We’re having some a-ma-zing bands, Accept Decline and Obsessive Compulsive, who you may know played a charity gig for us with Band Soc last year and totally filled up Cockpit, they’re actually brilliant. And huge! And I’m excited! We will dress up as pirates and play games and have treats! Wheee!
Ok I’m calm. It will be a brilliant night though, and just what you need to get you back into the uni mood after Easter.
- We’ve got the details of our next trip! This term we’ll be going to Spiders in Hull, which is a pretty incredible club. Three floors of rock music and a cocktail menu which apparently would come to less than £17 if you tried every single thing on it. And there is a LOT on it. Not to mention something ridiculous like 45p shots. We’ll be charging a paltry £6 to head over there May 2nd in the evening, have a bit of a boogie, and head back in the early morning. You old types might remember we went there a couple of years ago. Yes it was that good that we are going back. Look out for details of ticket sales coming soon.
- Lastly don’t forget that just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean that we stop being around. If you’re sticking in Leeds and are bored, we’ll still be on the forum and most likely in the pub every Friday regardless. Come. Join us. Join us in our inability to EVER LEAVE.
So that’s it from us, though once again you’ll probably get another message or two before we’re kicked out entirely, we hope that as your committee we’ve done a job. Hopefully a decent one. But at the very least a job. See you at the AGM tomorrow with the vague possibility that we’ll go down in a blaze of glory and take you all with us in a fiery maelstrom of violence, noise and splendour. And democracy.
