Okay, Avon may or may not be living with me next year. She's currently making up her mind, which means that I may have one more space in my house. If your interested, please drop me a line. As I say, it's not for sure, but I shall let you know in the next few weeks if I know you're interested...

Most of you've been here, but just in case...

Large house in quiet area about 5 mins walk from the union, 4 beds, double glazing, gas central heating combi boiler, cellar, lounge, 1 bathroom/toilet,

Kitchen: dishwasher, large fridge and freezer (seperate), lots of cupboard storage space, microwave, electric oven, gas hob. With any luck we should have a dishwasher too soon, although no promises. Badboy couch

Yard, with full bbq and bonfire facilities, washing line when required. Seats and table. BIRD FEEDER

Lounge: 1 3 seat sofa and 2 easy chairs, TV which is going, but we'll get another, no worries. Integrated 5.1 sound system, hooked up to kitchen for full mugasmic effectage. Storage space. ooo, and a projector when I bring it downstairs. PC for basic interweb access and watching downloaded TV in the lounge. (It's hooked up to the telervishwan)

Basement, small junk room for bike storage etc. Large room for band practices, homebrew (which is plentiful) and

dumping your shit. Shit must be dumped in damp proofed containers, mostly.

Bathroom: Bath, shower, sink, toilet, what more can you ask for.

We're allowed small rodentine pets, though you can't clean them out in the shower.

Landlord is very good, does what she's told, although occasionally needs hasstling, but on call almost all the time.

The room going is a fairly good size, with a carpet, double bed, wardrobe, drawers, shelves, desk and chair.

As a privilage member of the household, you will get fed beer at a rate of knotts, as the homebrew just keeps on coming.

Our internet is the best thing ever. If you're a torrent fan, I leave that restricted during the day, so as not to interfere.

We get up to about 2megabytes per second actual transfer speed. It's great.

You get all access to my entire 1700GB collection of TV and music and so on, as well as free tech support should you need it.

For your security, and descresed insurance, we have a full zoned fire alarm and burglar alarm system

which is set when we're out. All external doors are good and solid.

What else....

Oh yes, you get to live with three lovely hobos, and a pair of gypsy rats (though you wont see them much)

We're all quiet and industrious when it comes to uni work. I spend most of my term in the library. :)

but crucially, we all know how to party, and party hard :)

Rent is going to be £62 per week next year, up from £60 this year. :o

bills, including TV, elec, phone/internet, water and gas total about an extra tenner a week, which is

roughly what I paid in halls in first year, and I get a MUCH better deal here.

ooo, and there's 2 parks nearby, though 1 is full of hobos.

And it's close to town

and the free bus stops outside the door,

and I'm amazing...

...nipples...

Smiling

Joelxxx

heh, it's okay, we don't have rats., although I do see the occasional one out the back, but I put poison down and then go sit and feel like a terrible person for a few days...

I keep two rats, Bert and Ernie. They wear mexican hats, have droopy moustaches, and dance round campfires playing the ukulele.

Smiling

Joel neglected to mention that the other 2 people living there will be myself and Rhiannon (hell_bunny). So things will be pretty damn awesome, regardless of who the 4th person is Smiling

Well, this room is deinitely going now, so if you're seriously interested, you need to let me know. All I ask is that you're reasonably clean and tidy, and don't make too much noise at 4am. Smiling

The contract needs signing by the 13th of January if possible. The deposit is £200 which is payable by then, and the rent is paid as 12 cheques post-dated for every month, starting july 1st 2008. They are payable to "K D Willis". If you have no chequebook or a shortage of cheques etc, they'll be fine to work round that.

My number is 07872174254, drop me a text by early January and I'll get in touch with out landlord...

I assume the *bump* means the room is still available? Seeing as Stu hasn't got back to me about his spare room, I am very, very interested

Unipol is always a good way to go, people are always looking for spare housemates there. I lived with 1 girl I knew and 2 I met on unipol last year and it worked out really well Smiling

Yeh, that's what my brother did in his first year at Leeds College of Art and Design; he couldn't go into their hall as he was already a Leeds resident, so Unipol put him up in a house with two other guys, one studying photography and I forget what the other one was studying.

After that he spent the last two years of his degree living with friends off his course. I suppose Unipol is very good for if a) you don't yet know many people in the area, or b) you do know people, but no one who is available to live with.

Besides, as I learnt from personal experience, just because someone is a good friend, it doesn't mean they'll be a good housemate! Sometimes it's better to move in with people you don't know very well beforehand.

I suggest that too. I didn't know any of my housemates (including Michael) that well before we moved in together last year and thus it meant we were all on our best behaviour, as we wanted to get on with each other as well as possible. If you know someone well, you're a bit more liberal (for better or worse) in how you act arround them whilst living together as you don't think they'll mind as much. This isn't necessarily the case however.

Obviously I didn't know any of the people I'm living with/near this year before I actually arrived, and even though my flatmate does the odd irritating thing, I don't mind because she's not the worst flatmate I've ever had, and I probably won't ever see her again once these last three and a half months are done!
