Is it any good?
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. NO!

If the first films 'lets keep an object away from the bad guys till the end, when we will give them it, and it kills them' plot didnt melt your brain and give you nightmares....This is worse. This is like CGI sodom and Gommorah on the screen with robots. Michael Bay you can actually FEEL in your wallet as you watch the film.

Like the old saying, throw enough shit, enough of it will stick. Yea, this is like that, with cash thrown on afterwards.
You can see the budget, but it still stinks.

Break it down.

Crazy locations-with robots=obvious excuse to use budget some more
Fight scenes all done in CGI= obvious excuse to use budget some more
Bad acting= 'We spent the cash on CGI, not acting classes for the human cast'
Stupid robots= Stupid fucking robots

Its literally like being slapped with a message that warfare is bad bad bad. Yes we KNOW. children know. The elderly know. Dogs know. Coma patients know. But dont sell me a message with GIANT ROBOTS. its like selling a no smoking advert with Winston Churchill smoking a cigar. THAT shit doesnt stick im afraid.

If you like films with a plot thinner than a catwalk models waist and less brains than a labotomised lab rat. See it, if still curious see it at your own risk. I downloaded it so i was spared some of the horror by pausing some of it. But this film is like Stealth, The Core, Armageddon, Independance day and T3. Style over substance. Idiocy over common sense.

2/10

By the way, you do realise that the idea of the film is a toy brand?

And it is aimed to young people or people who (never)grew up with the Transformers franchise? Have you seen the first series? Or the Beast Wars? Or the first film?

Guess what: big stupid robots. All along.

We want to see the robots! That's what it's all about! Transformers in a live-action film! Devastator, Ravage and Stascream! YAY!

After Shogg's review I am seriously considering watching this in the cinema.

All the stuff Shogg said is exactly what I enjoyed about the first film, and why I will definitely be seeing this too Smiling

Daryl, people don't go to see films about giant alien robots kicking the shit out of each other for a deep, profound story; it's supposed to be mindless entertainment and nothing more!

Didn't you once say that that's the most upsetting thing you've ever seen in any film?

Not bought toys for a while*, mostly lack of funds, and I don't think I've ever owned any transformers (Truth be be told, I was more into Shogun Warriors, but no-one ever remember them Sad ) but al three movies have been terrific fun!

I liked it. The character's were more light-hearted and comedic than in the first film, which I thought was already pretty decent. Admittedly, Transformers is not my typical type of movie, but I'd say the new film is well worth a watch.

And Daryl, it's a kids film, deep plot doesn't come into it. Besides, aren't you a fan of gore-tastic horror movies? Isn't that the same thing? Gore over plot?

Not as good as the first (so I doubt Neil wants to see it!) but still reasonably enjoyable.

But considering the huge amount of violence, sexual innuendo and swearing, this is most definitely NOT a kids' film (as evidenced by the several kids who had to be taken outside crying when I saw it). I think this film makes a strong case for the 12A rating to be axed and the old 12 rating brought back (or at least say you have to be at least 8 or 9 to see films rated thusly). It's not as inappropriately rated as The Dark Knight though (that should have been a 15, easily).

Parents need to stop automatically trusting the BBFC and decide THEMSELVES what is appropriate for their children to watch (in Spain and most of the rest of the Europe, age ratings are merely guidelines). A big summer blockbuster like Transformers (or the Dark Knight) is going to be given an inappropriately lenient rating to maximise ticket sales. Parents need to realise that the film industry has no moral compass and is, at the end of the day, just out to make a lot of money.

don't forget the drug reference kids

the whole film is childish and sam's 'sidekick was pointless (plus why didn't he and that other geez get sucked into 'devestators' mouth yet the twins did?

explosions don't make a movie

crap script, crap explosions (with pointless extra fireworks shooting out of 'em) and crazy autobots hunting down decepticons (that seemed to be living happy in secret)

also the original G1 versions kids film (and orsen wells last film) includes such lines as 'Your bargaining posture is highly dubious; But very well. I will provide you with a new body, and new troops to command'

1 last thing going back to micheal bay does transforming robots.....optimus prime hiding in a garden...FUCK YOU MICHEAL BAY...FUCK YOU!

To be honest, I enjoyed it. It's a must-watch if you're a fan, even if you will complain about it later. I did. But still, enjoyable.

And I now have a Sideswipe looking at me from my bedside table, controlled by an Alternators (drool) Decepticharge. And a Legends Megatron. More of them coming back to England with me from Italy. Including the original G1 Optimus, if I can take off my brother's hands, two versions of Optimus Primal, Magnaboss and I believe two Waspinators.

I could bring Power Rangers Megazords...

Nah, Transformers and Lego. Lego Bionicle. In order to create a giant battle scene all over my room.

Rambling, aren't I...
