Never has an albums title so well summed up an album

Its dire, badly mixed, floppy sounding drivel

Psychosocial (the first single) goes and does that god awful 'lets repeat a word and call it a chorus' trick

Lyrics are a little bit like hearing paint dry, whilst being skull fucked by a horse

Its a long and far cry since  thier self titled debut eyeless and (sic)

But

At least its better than volume 3

also (please read if you actually like Slipknot)

As good as diversity and mixed tastes go in metal, or indeed any genre, there is no excuse for a sloppy second rate album. Like mansons eat me drink me. They FEEL rushed and half arsed no matter what the artist says about going back to their roots. Look at all three good examples, and there are many more. Slipknot, manson and Rob zombie. I love rob zombie

But educated horses was one of the most pitiful 'return to forms' ive ever had to listen to. The same applies to this. It feels like stone sour but they are wearing the masks. At one point Slipknot was extreme amongst the coal chambers and the fred durst laden nu-metal. Now. they are the neutered old dog led behind the porch to be shot.
