Don't you just hate it when you meet loads of new people and forget most of their names. Even the people who's name you would like to remember...

DAMMIT.

It's most annoying when you're trying to find them on facebook in an attempt to remind yourself what they're called and fail miserably. Be right. Still, it would be nice to remember at least the friendly people you've met rather than seeming like a twat the next time you see them.

Whilst I'm thinking about it, if I've met you and we had a lengthy conversation yet I've not added you on facebook, it's probably because I can't remember your name. I'm deeply sorry and it's not because I don't like you, I have just met too many people recently.

When I can't remember someone's name, I look through the members of a group (in this case the Leeds Rock Soc group) or friends of a person I do know to find them, having pictures helps!

This doesn't work for people who don't have pictures of themselves though. Or Facebook, naturally.

It's really embarrassing to start talking to someone you think is new only to find out you've met several times before.

Worse is talking to someone for 10 minutes and then they realise your name and level of ill repute.

The worst one is when people are talking to you and you're not listening to what they're saying because you're trying to remember their name. Then if you do remember it you suddenly change expression to one of joviality and they ask if you're ok, using your name.

My worst so far is spending about 2 hours, maybe more, talking to someone getting to know most of their life story (which I could remember) but can't remember something so simple as their name.

Epic fail.

I've had to do that as part of a team building exercise, I wasn't even close having already asked her name twice. The really bad thing that I realised afterwards is that she was wearing a name badge. Way to make friends with new workmates...
