Billy Talent - quite punky and rather enjoyable. Although it didn't help that I confused them with Billy Idol and wondered why a) they didn't play any of the songs i knew b) why they looked so young for a band that has been around since the 80s and c) why the singer looks completely different.
The Used - Distinctly average. I'm not into them and am still not, but it was bearable. If their set was a colour, that colour would be beige. The singer however seemed to want to be kurt cobain with his current look.
Funeral for a Friend - Better than I thought they would be. I wouldn't rush out to buy any cds or merch but I don't think I will slate them any more. I am now neutral towards them.
Fall out boy - Utter shit. I went in with a reasonably open mind (after I heard one of their newer songs and thought it was ok) and they just made me close that mind again to stop the poison seeping in. Not only were they shit with their own stuff, they butchered two covers including one of Michael Jackson's better songs.
Lost Prophets - The singer seems to have remembered he is actually British again and not an American. This meant that they were surprisingly good. I actually enjoyed them for the first time since their breakthrough album.
NIN - awesome. best set of the festival. very intense, very pretty light show. I was gob smacked. They were even better than they were in 2005 when I saw them on their own, which is a hard thing to beat. Trent Reznor doesn't suit his current hair style though.
Smashing Pumpkins - Billy Corgan was really annoying and we left after 10 minutes. The bassist was quite fit though.
New Found Glory - Fun pop punk that was far better than Billy Corgan and his ego.
Gogol Bordello - Fantastic laugh. They really put energy into the performance and it paid off for them.
Jimmy Eat World - It would have been better if I had known more than 3 songs. They were a bit average otherwise.
Capdown - While I couldn't see them because I was sat down because my feet were killing me, they were fantastic as always.
The Bronx - I thought my piece of chewing gum in was chewing was more interesting.
Mad Caddies - They had the stage presence of a killer whale break dancing in the middle of a republican election rally. You took notice of them and even if you didn't really know the songs they were still enjoyable as much as a hardcore fan.
Ash - It was interesting to see them without Charlotte and they did manage to pull off and cope really well with the change in lineup. One of the new songs seems to show them heading towards Muse type stuff, while it was a bit of a curve ball, they did it really well.
Angles and Airwaves - it didn't really inspire much interest in them. It seemed to just be Tom DeLonge commenting on his previous band for the duration of the set with a number of wishy washy songs in between.
The Pigeon Detectives - Better than I thought they would be, but still not really my cup of tea.
Dinosaur Jr - Their sound is really good. They were enjoyable for the first 20 minutes until you got bored of that sound as all their songs are quite similar and they didn't interact with the audience that much. I would recommend them, but only if you listen to one or two songs in one listening.
Random Hand - The locals were on TOP form. They managed to pull the largest unsigned stage crowd I have seen and they kept the crowd too, getting a number of new fans in the process.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - dull and disappointing. They were a huge let down and barely did any of the decent songs, just vast numbers of the slow songs (made slower and longer) that nobody really knows and lots of dull filler solos on bass/guitar. Left after the first hour because of them being so boring.

It was great this year as the weather was lovely and warm and it didn't rain once. And I got a lovely tan. Although just on my arms which I guess looks a little silly...
