Though of different genres etc if this had of been release in 2008
it would have beaten Dark Knight as that years top film

Where to begin
Its Eastwoods finest hour
he's hard arsed and humourless whilst being wounded and easy to empathise with
He plays us, all of us, when we are old and see things falling by the wayside
He's also one serious racist s.o.b

It is a simple and powerful film
well acted, tightly plotted

Its a great film
One of 2009's best for sure
A real treat and touchingly sad

I've heard about this, sounds very interesting.

Also sounds quite Oscar-worthy; wonder why it didn't get any?

It's likely it was released too late. It'll probably be in next year's Oscars if it is any good.

I think the conditions for Oscar inclusion for a set year is that the film must be shown in Los Angeles before 31st December. This film had at least a limited release by mid-December, which I assume would have included Los Angeles.
