Now. How can I put this.
I really really really enjoyed this album the first time through. And the only other band that usually manages to have that effect is Kamelot. Having said that, I still think Jansen cannot growl. And, as other reviewers have put it, 'there are some pretty cheesy lyrics on this thing and vocal approaches as well. On the 13 minute Kingdom of Heaven, even God shows up to scream at someone “NO! You must continue!” I’m surprised these guys didn’t call in Fabio from Rhapsody of Fire to cheese it up a little bit more for them. Yes, it’s that bad.' (I love this guy - ndr)
Simone Simons has apparently decided to try all of her vocal range (AAARGH, I have missed the concert), there is quite a few orchestral parts, a duet with Sonata Arctica's Tony Kakko, a ballad, and, fortunately, no Evanescence-y 'Never Enough' style song.
It is pompous, bombastic and highly ambitious. This does not mean it achieves its goals. But it's a wonderful attempt!
To all you symphonic metal fans out there, with a secret crush for cheesiness and female vocals: You Will Love It.

Is Jansen the same one that growls on Cry for the Moon: The embrace that smothers Part IV?
If so, no, he really can't xD
And Kakko on it? It must be good ^^
.... but I never really liked her voice. *anticipates flame-back*
