Do you think there'd be any interest at all if i tried setting up a Dodgeball society in Leeds?

Possibly. You should try looking to see if there's any kind of British dodgeball association (or, even better, one specifically to do with universities).

According to the LUU website there isn't currently a dodgeball society at Leeds.

Really? Do they use spanners in training?

Thanks for the link, although the UK rules differ immensely from the Canadian rules.

I'll have to think about this one.

I get the impression that the Canadian version's a bit more violent (I imagine the country has far less stringent 'elf and safety rules than we do).

Yeah i'm pretty sure they do although the Canadian version isn't that violent, i've only seen a couple of bad injuries and they've all been caused by a mis-judgement by the dodger rather than the thrower.

The Canadian version is just bigger, longer and more varied. The UK version is 6 players with 3 balls in a 2 minute game. The Canadian version is 18 players with 10 balls in a 10 minute game. There's also 4 different game types in the Canadian version which all have slightly different rules.

You could always make a Canadian Dodgeball group? Or start a Dodgeball group that has all kinds of variants on the game. Hell, you could even try making your own rules and have special games (not to be confused with the special Olympics, obviously... that comes after the Dodgeball injuries!)

I'd totally give it a look was I not going to find out what life is like outside of university next year. How cool will it be to get money in lots of little instalments? Sticking out tongue
