I'm not veggie, but often end up picking it if there's no meat for me (I'm picky with my meat). All the above sound lovely. Except mushrooms, I don't like them.

Don't us normal people (sorry, I mean meat eaters) get a choice about our food?

Tom, we got given a set menu for each price range. However, there was no vegetarian option in that set menu. As there is a high number of veggies (me included) in the society, we couldn't exclude them. It just so happens that we got given a choice of options. If you have a problem with this bring it up with the hotel as that what they have given us.

Don't do mushrooms... mushrooms baaaaad.

STARTER
Tomato and Mozzarella Cheese Salad
Although the Melon sounds loooovely

MAIN
Any apart from the Mushroom Casserole.
The Ricotta Cheese Tortellini sounds nice
But so does the en Croute...
And the tartlet...

Avoid mushrooms, and I think you're on a winner =D

Tomato and mozzarella salad for starters and the ricotta cheese tortellini for the main.

PLEASE GOD NO MUSHROOMS.

If you know the mushroom story then you will understand.

Quite a few people have said that they do not want to have the mushroom option, therfore that one can be removed from the list. SO it's between the ones that are left

All you mushroom haters fail. I want mushrooms in EVERYTHING.
But since that has cruelly been taken away from me, I suppose..

Tomato and Mozzarella Cheese Salad
With a Balsamic Dressing IF the soup is out, otherwise I want aspargus soup!

and

Vegetable & Red Pepper En Croute
Served On A Basil Pesto Sauce

Can I just point out that the soup is mushroomy?

I will cry if I get mushroomy soup. However, if a mushroom lover offers to swap my dish for a bowl of wine instead then I might be placated =]

Is it fair that non-veggies are choosing veggie options here? If, as Laura points out, these options are not in the set menu, I'm taking it that means they are more expensive than the meat option. So, in order to keep ticket prices down for everyone, surely this shouldn't be allowed?

If on the other hand, the veggie options are exactly the same price as the meat option, then feel free to ignore this point Sticking out tongue

As I said Tom, the set menu does not include a vegetarian option. There was just three menu's to choose from and the hotle can cater to any other dietary requirements. The veggies will pay exactly the same price as the meat eaters, it is no more expensive! These are all the veggie options for the price option that we are currently looking at.

Have I totally missed the boat for this?

Or can I (+1) still come? Have tickets been sold?

Soup looks nice (even though I dislike mushrooms).

and the en croute = delicieux.

We're still in the process of organising. The contract hasn't even been signed yet so I you definately haven't missed the boat for this at all. A message will be sent out to everyone when the tickes become available

I'm not veggie, but I don't eat certain meats, eg beef, so if that was the meat main course and I wasn't allowed the veggie option because I'm not vegetarian I would go hungry!

Besides, the only thing I didn't want was mushrooms, which has been backed up by many others Smiling

Sure, but since this is in no way relevant to you why start a debate?

OH MY WORD PEOPLE - this was meant to be a simple thing to understand and do. NON veggies - don't write on this thread unless you are going to put down for vegetarian. Non vegetarian will be a standard meal and we have no choice.
Veggies, just vote for the one you want

NO SILLY STUFF!!!
RIGHT!!
no more debates
JUST VOTE

Why didn't someone just create a poll if the discussion wasn't wanted?

Maybe a job for the webmaster?

Any member of the forum can create a poll, committee or not.

If people can't find out how, can you let me know where you are looking - just in case I am thinking everyone can see the New Poll button when in fact a configuration problem means that people without administrator permissions can't see it.

I can create one if people want, but the website was supposed to be designed so that the webmaster role just looks after the technical side of the site, rather than the content side.

What debate did I start? I asked a couple of reasonable questions, Laura satisfactorily answered them and I have no further points to raise on the matter. I may have a bit of a reputation of stirring things up in the past but I can ensure you that, on this occasion, that was not my intention at all.

There is nothing else to say on the matter, let's drop it and move on (and I don't think Tim would appreciate another uberquote).

I can see where this is going so I've created a poll for both starter and main course. Get voting people.

While cheese followed by cheese does sound a bit like overkill, and I would agree that with your assessment, it looks like the people have spoken...
