A concept album following the diary readings of a serial killer by the name of Spider, who planned to wrap each of his 8 victims in silk and remove a leg from each of them. However in the Hollywood style, Evil-never-wins ending, he falls in love with his eighth victim. The whole album has a mixture between Brutal planet/Dragontown and, to a lesser extent, Welcome to my nightmare. Openening with a spoken word prologue, creeping into a dark 70's hard rock motif, overlaid with throaty vocals. This leads into "Vengeance is mine", with a fantastic solo by Slash. It then moves on to a more sombre "Wake the dead" co-written and featuring mouth organ contributions from Ozzy.

TRack for the track, the album provides a variety of 70's/80's hard rock, a few slightly more modern sounding tracks, as well as two ballads. Culminating at the epilogue, ending with a conversation between prior characters of Cooper's entourage.

My rating 8.5/10 - I preferred the recent "Eyes..." and "...Diamonds" albums, but "...Spider" still retains an enjoyable rythmn.

Ah, SWeet, Sweet Alice....such a lovely man. TO be honest, I've not heard anything of his for years...  I sort of lost touch in the late 80's....  Might check this out though...
