As the older members of the society will be able to tell you there is a fabled night in the Rocksoc calender. A night where beards are tamed, faces are prettified and food and drink are consumed in large quantities whilst giving the visual impression of being at the very height of sophistication. This is of course the Alt Ball, a ball for those of us in society who like to dress up nice, but not compromise on our musical tastes. This year this fabled event will be taking place on Saturday 13th of March at the Marriott Hotel off Boar lane in town, so please join us for a night of food (3 course meal), drink (both on the table and pruchaseable from our own private bar), entertainment (a DJ playing all of the Rock and Metal classics for you to dance the night away too, plus extra super secret entertainment, oooOOOOOooooo) and other societies (We open the night up to Anime, Sci-fi and Fantasy, Gothsoc, Punksoc, basically any alternative society, aren't we nice?).
As an added bonus this year we are giving a £10 discount on the first 50 tickets sold to you lovely Rocksocers. That means you will get the meal,entertainment and some free drink for a mere £25. Still not convinced? £25 alittle too much to spend in one go? Then why not pay in installments, a crisp £10 note will secure your place at the ball while you save those extra penniesand give them us over the following weeks. Tickets go on sale from next week (25th Jan) where we'll be selling them in the Old Bar from 12-2. After that you can eitherbuy them at Rocksoc events or keep an eye out for some specific ticket selling days we'll be setting up.

Menu:
Ok, we've decided the basic menu for the event now from the choices the Marriott gave us (sorry there's no options, we had to choose one set menu). For those veges among us there will be a seperate menu which I will post up as soon as the Marriott get back to me about it, same for people with special dietry requirements. Cheers.
Starter: Roast Vine Tomato and Basil Soup with Garlic Herb Croutons
Main: Chicken Roulade with Goats Cheese and Thyme Wrapped in Pancetta, Seasonal Vegetables and Potatoes
Dessert: Profiteroles with Chocolate and Rum Sauce
Currently each table (10 people) will also be getting two bottles of wine, a jug of beer and a jug of orange juice. We are trying to add another drinks package on top of that as well.
You can pay for this at any time during the next two weeks at the old bar 12-2.
