Rock/Goth/Punk soc Laser Quest Showdown

Okay folks. After the tremendous success of last years laser quest, we're decided to run another one. This year we hope to get a full team from each society and find out who is truly the best.

The place is great, it's in Huddersfield and is supposedly far superiour to anything Leeds has to offer.

We'll be meeting at the train station at 5:45pm. The train is £2.80 with a rail card, or £4.20 without.

Laserquest itself is a tenner for 3 hours of unadulterated laser action. Basically we play different games, so you do get time for a quick breather between games.

HOORAY!
The lovely guys over at Facebook have suddenly decided they don't like us. Basically, our facebook profile was in contravention of their terms and conditions, because Leeds RockSoc is not a single person, but rather a group of people. Anyway, we're liasing with them to see what we can get done about this. Hopefully we'll be able to change it to Leeds RockSoc President or something... In the meanwhile, we have no facebook profile.

A HUGE pain in the ass, but never fear. We do still have our facebook group, from whom you'll be able to find out about events...

Rock Soc at Rios

Melt at Rios is a new night. On Thursday the 20th they're doing a special societies night where everyone gets half price entry.
However. Rock Soc gets that anyway! (Yes! with your Rock Soc card you will get half price entry to Melt every week from now on!)

Plus we'll be having some of our own djs on too!

What we're going to do is meet up in the Old Bar at 8pm on Thursday and get a few drinks in, then maybe Fab for free shots with some of the other societies as well!
After that we'll all be heading off to Melt for an evening of Rock-Related Goodness/Madness/Badness from 10pm.

Action Band Aid

I forgot to mention on the last newsletter issue, that Rocksoc member get a £1 discount to Action Band Aid in Mine in the union tomorrow night.
All profits are going to the local community volunteers group, so get down check the bands out.

Hellooooo people, welcome to another issue of this cornerstone of respectable society, The Rocksoc Newsletter! It's very big today. Just the way we like it.

Red Angels Controversy - Voting

Hi,

 

We've had some complaints (predictably) about offering a discount to Red Angels, a rock night at Red Leopard, a strip club in town. The terms we accepted were we get £2 off in exchange for offering this discount to our members....

Please vote on this issue to decide whether we should keep this offer, as some members find it morally objectionable. If the general consensus is that we should not be associated with this type of establishment then we shall refuse their offer.
