The long-running Two Smokin' Barrels finally comes to the union! A general rock/metal/punk night hosted by the Rock Society with bands, guest DJs and more!

The event will take place over two rooms, in Mine and Pulse.

Advance tickets will be available in CATS, the union reception, the arc reception and leedstickets.com

Bands are TBC and will appear here first.

So one committiee is bowing out and the new one is taking over. We here at Rocksoc are commemorating this with something a little special.

So don your eye-patches, sharpen your steel, don't forget the parrot and come down to subculture for a night of drink and debauchery.

Basically the first weekend back from the Easter holidays, we have arranged our second and final coach trip of the year (I know...it is so sad ). We shall be heading over to Spider's in Hull as we did last year...for those who know what it is, no more need be said...for those that don't you should all be ashamed!!!

Spider's itself is a pure rock and metal club...that has amazingly cheap drinks and even food upstairs! So get your arses in gear and make sure your there for sign ups when we have them in the Old Bar (dates for ticket selling to be confirmed later).

Its that time of the year again where we need to pick a committee for the next year. This is your society so come along and have your say. Tonight is the night where we combine our trademark nights and let them fight to the death. A night where metal and rock combine for your pleasure. This is the last clubnight before easter so come along for the fun.
To make the event even more amusing it is a theme night (theme will be decided soon). So come along in crazy costumes and party along to everything between reel big fish and Lamb of God.

As the older members of the society will be able to tell you there is a fabled night in the Rocksoc calender. A night where beards are tamed, faces are prettified and food and drink are consumed in large quantities whilst giving the visual impression of being at the very height of sophistication. This is of course the Alt Ball, a ball for those of us in society who like to dress up nice, but not compromise on our musical tastes.

On the 7th of March the RockSoc will be descending upon Huddersfield laser quest with our brethren of the alternative world the Punks and Goths. We’ve booked exclusive use of the venue for between 7pm til 10pm and it will be a mere tenner for three hours of blasting each other away. Play as many games or take as many breaks as you want! Plus even better...the place has a bar!!!
